Questions

How much does the program cost?

Nothing. Zero. Zilch. Nada. We really want people to be able to participate, no matter what.

That said, we are happy to receive donations to contribute towards the costs of the program. We have a recommended amount of $5 per kid. If you’re interested in donating, we will be receiving cash donations on site, or you can check out our Instructions for Giving and send a donation via e-transfer – make sure to put ‘Kids VBS Program’ in the comment field!

Who Can Come to VBS?

Our VBS Program is designed for any children aged Kindergarten to Grade 5.

Students Grade 6 and above can contact Pastor Jon Eagleson about becoming junior leaders for our program.

Where will the program be located? When is it happening?

Our program will be running at Parkland Pentecostal Church, located at 16 Hemlo Drive, right next to the high school. The program runs August 8th-12th, every morning from 9am to noon. Doors open at 8:45, and pickup is at noon.

Here’s a sample of a typical morning’s program.

8:45am – Doors Open
9:00am – 9:30am –
Morning session! There will be singing, a short bible-based lesson, and more.
9:30 – 11:30 – Station rotations! Your children will be doing crafts, making special snacks, playing games, participating in skits, and hearing stories.
11:30-Noon – Closing session. More singing, lessons, looking at pictures of the day, and more! Pickup after the program concludes.

What should I bring?

Not much! Your child should:

  • Dress appropriately – it’s a good possibility that in any of our games, your child will get wet and/or messy!
  • Bring a water bottle
  • Put on sunscreen prior to attending- they will probably be going outside!
  • Bring any necessary medications with instructions, and notify our VBS staff prior to attending the program. Please fill out the Medical Needs portion of our registration form to fill in our staff anything they should be aware of – you will be contacted prior to the program to confirm.

Can I Help Out?

Absolutely! We have many ways that adults and Grade 6+ youth can help out the program. We are looking for team leaders, set designers, snack prep, registration help, and more. We’d love to be able to talk to you about ways you can help the program be the best it can be.

Plus, high school students can earn volunteer hours helping out with the program – which are required for graduation!

If you are interested in helping out, please click the button below and fill out the form. Pastor Jon will contact you afterwards.
